Jewelries

As Sonja Henie would put it, "Jewelry takes people mind's off your wrinkles". True enough jewelries captivate our senses and when we saw one we tend to fixate our eyes on it. Apart from that, these gems are good investments in the future. You could hand these down to your kids retaining its value and beauty. Or in worst case, you can have this exchange for cash in your local pawnshop stores in times of need.

Kryz and WAGW

Last Saturday I had one rare privilege of seeing and even talking to Kryz Uy, Creative Director of WAGW. In my previous post here, I have been an avid fan of this girl since God knows when. I am a follower of her blog, her twitter and her FB page. So much for being a stalker eh? Her setting foot in the city is an opportunity I cannot let go hence I took the courage to visit WAGW and approach her as she was busy fixing some of the display.

My apologies for stammering being the talkative that I am. I'm just simply overwhelmed with your lovely presence and more so for being so kind to talk with me and agreeing for some pictures. Her sister was also very kind to accommodate me in the counter and told me to accumulate purchases in WAGW in order to get something special when X amount of purchases is done. They also provided me with their new Magazine which showcases their Primal Rock Therapy Collection and their new collection All About Eve.

Kryz also told me that Camille Co, another blogger who I have been following will also visit CDO soon. Will definitely be looking forward to that day.

Thank you Kryz and thank you WAGW!

Single?

Everyone experienced being single. Somewhere in our lives there were occasions when love and relationships were nowhere to be found. And I for one was also involve and a member of the singles club. I must say that during these times, I was frustrated, depressed and sad for not having that special someone. But in spite of that lacking aspect in my adult life, how did I survive all these?

Credit: Flickr

Being single is not a curse for one to carry. It is even a privilege and an opportunity. In this phase, one can improve one’s self in preparation for the relationship. Years ago I had read the book entitled “I Kissed Dating Goodbye” by Joshua Harris. It was an interesting book to begin with. The title itself is catchy and its contents are amazing. Reading this book was my eye opener on how to make the most of my singleness.

So let me share to you a little portion of the book’s lesson and how exactly did I applied it.

• The right thing at the wrong time is the wrong thing. I want to do things as fast as I can. So when I tend to see couples before being oh so sweet, I tend to hastily join a romantic chat room and chat with a guy hoping he would be my next boyfriend. And guess what, every time, it failed and I end up being more depressed. The book inculcated the virtue of delaying gratification. The world might deliver us instant results even in the course of relationships but it can’t guarantee results. I am a girl who believes in happy ever after even if it might seem vague and impossible. And I know for sure, that making such hasty decisions can also pave the way of a hasty ending relationship. Thus I was driven to wait until the right man comes at the right time.

• Any season of singleness is a gift. This is very true. It is in this phase where I did maximize my freedom. Thoughts of being single mostly occupied my mind but doing stuffs that you can while in this state and putting it in action can swipe the thoughts away. I tend to do different things. I enrolled myself in music lessons particularly the violin and the arts. I was inculcating the thought that it would be wonderful to add a skill or two so when the one comes, he would see more.

• Making the most of your singleness. As I had indicated in the previous bullet, I learned totally new lessons to insert on my free times. And I was also a professional working then. Being in a relationship means loving someone new. Being single means loving someone old. So I tend to spend more time with my family. I immediately rush home after school and bond with my brother and parents when they get back from work. I tend to spend weekends with my closest college friends and hang out. It was like the moment of bonding for individuals who were already dear to me.

See? Being single after all is a fun time for you and for your family and friends. I know keeping yourself busy can also be a big help to suffice your single time. Just make sure that when you keep yourself busy, you are enjoying yourself in the process. A simple note, you don’t need that special someone to make you smile. If you can’t make yourself happy then how can you be assured when the right man comes, you can also make him happy?

As an add-on note, love yourself. It’s the best thing you can give and do for the meantime. Stay positive and good luck in finding the man of your dreams.

Essa@10

If Snow White is real and walking with us today, she would be one perfect epitome of this lovely Disney princess. Minus the hair, the gown and the evil stepmother, she has almost the exact resemblance of her. From the white glowing skin tone, pretty eyes and red lips, one could clearly say that such an individual existed. And this is for real! She is Essa Santos.

Essa is no stranger in the catwalk and in front of the camera. With many events she attended and the countless photo shoots under her belt, you will really have no excuse that you haven't seen this lady. And with that Snow White-ish face of hers, she is absolutely one head turner. With such credentials, Etallasa is honored to feature a lady who is gorgeous and beautiful inside and out. Get to know her more as Essa answers the 10.

1. What do you do?

right now, i'm a senior student at Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan taking up Bachelor of Arts major in Philosophy. i also do modeling and hosting jobs

2. Describe yourself in three words.

OUTGOING - haha! i've never been the shy type and i looove making new friends!

ENIGMATIC - i would like to believe that i'm not the kind of girl that can be boxed up into one category/stereotype. i even find it hard to figure out myself! getting to know how i am is a lifelong journey.

TOUGH - some of my closest friends think that this is one of my negs. i can come off to be quite insensitive and indifferent. but i'm totally not! yes, i've never been very emotional, but that doesn't mean i don't care.

3. What is one thing you can't leave/live without today?

i can't leave the house without my phone! haha i have paranoid thoughts that fall along the lines of "what if i get stuck in the school's elevator and the emergency bell doesn't work and i don't have a phone?? how will they know i'm here??" haha

i can't live without exercising! i swear i'm addicted to it. haha most of my friends think it's because i'm obsessed about getting thin, but that's not completely the case. i love the feeling i get when i push myself during workout. plus, the endorphin rush i get after is addicting

4. What do you value most in your life right now?

i value the relationships i have built with the people in my life. they make everything better and i feel so blessed to have met them.

5. What do you see as your greatest achievement?

my greatest achievement so far would have to be my attitude towards life. bragging aside, i'm really happy that i have become more hardworking, stronger, and more resilient; i work hard to reach my goals, i stand up for what i think is right, and i constantly work on improving myself.

Credit as tagged: JM Tagarda

6. What is the greatest regret of your life so far?

i don't have any! regrets won't do you any good. so i deal with my mistakes by learning from them and doing better the next time

7. What are the things you would still want to achieve?

i want to graduate on time (this march, hopefully!), i want to be independent, find a stable job, and support myself. these are the things i'm concentrating on for now. i have so many on my list of goals, but all the others will have to wait.

8. What makes you different?

woah. this is a tough one. i would say i'm different in so many levels but i think what sets me apart the most is how i think. i tend to over-analyze and worry too much. haha! but on the positive note, all the adversities and struggles (plus philosophy) i've been through has helped me achieve a broader perspective of things.

9. How do you see yourself five years from now?

well, i'm hoping that 5years from now, i'll have a stable job that has good compensation. i hope i get to buy my own car by then too!! hahaha but yeah, basically i see myself financially stable and a whole lot richer experience-wise

10. What advice can you give to yourself and to others?

i've always believed that everything happens for one reason; and that is for us to have opportunities to grow and become better. let us not dwell on problems as dead ends and reasons to give up. instead, let us regard them as chances to improve ourselves. we can never make our lives perfect, but who says we can't make one helluva good run for it

With such words, Essa is surely not only a beauty but a lady with convictions and a strong purpose in her life. I am sure you would want to know her more. In that case you can visit her Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter.
